After boiling the entire mixture, they would go straight into a whirlpool. Of course there are some particles along with the liquid and they have to be removed so it will have the perfect texture. This is where they do the separation for the mixture to get processed and made ready for the fermentation.
Once the liquid is considered clear enough, fermentation takes place. They do it by adding a yeast into the wort which removes its sugary texture and converts it into a beer.
